The National Museum of African American History and Culture closed Saturday, October 27 due to a fire in the loading dock. There were no injuries and no damage to the Museum or its collection. As a result, the Smithsonian African American Film Festival screenings of Sankofa and Spit and Rock Rubber 45s were canceled. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the cancelations.

We encourage you to hold onto your ticket. The Museum hopes to reschedule screenings of these films at a later date. Tickets purchased for the October 27 screenings will be honored at that time. If you would like a refund now, please fill out this form; otherwise, we hope you consider donating your ticket cost as a contribution to the museum.

We will inform you as soon as the rescheduled dates for screenings of Sankofa and Spit and Rock Rubber 45s are announced.
